Mood Boards

 Hi! Welcome back to my blog! This week, we were asked to create mood boards for different sets. Here is what I created. Hope you like it!

  Here is my haunted house mood board. My choices are dark and spooky. Most of the colors used are black and various shades of gray. I made these choices to show the dark vibe of the haunted house and evoke a sense of mystery and fear in the one who views it. I want the audience to make assumptions that something bad is about to happen and fear what it is. I would also like for them to fear the characters or what is about to happen to other characters, like we do in horror movies. 

In this board, I tried to represent a basic college dorm. My choices are bright and cheerful to represent the comfort you can feel when you make it your own. I chose McKenna Grace as the actor because she is the right age to represent college life. The colors and lighting are bright to show the new beginning that college is and the bright opportunities that await. I want the audience to assume that my characters are embracing college life by going to games and cheering on the teams, while also studying and maintaining a good balance. 

This board is for a British tea time. I made bright color choices like pinks to show a feminine vibe. I also chose Emma Watson as the actor because I believe she represents the feeling I am trying to show. I want the audience to assume that this is a calm setting and nothing too crazy is going to happen. I tried to prove this tranquility with the lighting. 

For my last mood board, I chose a mystical forest. The colors are multiple shades of green to show the forest setting. I chose Kristen Bell as my actor because when I look at her, she reminds me of a fairy, and that is the same thing I want to evoke in my audience. I want my audience to feel enchanted in another world with endless possibilities.
